Euro-Atlantic Café: The Sanders and the Trump phenomena

The Centre for Euro-Atlantic Integration and Democracy (CEID) launched a series of discussions about current issues of Hungarian and US foreign policy, supported by the Embassy of the United States in Hungary and the Pallas Athene Geopolitical Foundation (PAGEO). We aim to discuss different foreign policy strategies, help understand their background and identify common interests of the two countries. Our purpose is to organize constructive and open debates on foreign and security policy issues.

In our upcoming event, we will focus on the US Presidential primaries, analyze the profile, the political discourse and the foreign policy agenda of the leading candidates. We will try to explore the background of the Trump and Sanders phenomena and their approach to transatlantic relations.

Our guests are:
Kelly Gibson, political analyst, Partner at Hamburger Gibson Creative and
Tamás Magyarics, Professor, Head of Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade

The event will be moderated by: Edit Inotai, Senior Fellow, CEID

Date: 9:00-11:30, 5th April 2016
Venue: Loyola Café, 1085 Budapest, Horánszky u. 20.,
