New fixer service

As a new feature, CEID is offering foreign journalist a wide network of contacts in Hungarian politics, both to the government and to the opposition, civil society and academia. Following the landslide victory of PM Viktor Orbán and his right-wing conservative Fidesz party, many analysts in the foreign media wonder about the reasons of such massive support by the society. the consequence of having a surprising strong mandate will have their consequences not only in Hungary, but in the European Union as well.

If you would like to understand Hungarian politics, the social and economic dimensions, the historical background and their implications for Central Europe and the European Union, CEID is there to help you. We would be happy to assist you with our English-speaking, thoroughly informed and well-connected fixers, who could advise you with topics, offer background information, organize interviews in and outside Budapest and help with translations. The programs are supervised by Dr Edit Inotai, former Berlin correspondent and Foreign Editor of daily Népszabadság (closed in 2015) and current ARD correspondent and Senior Fellow of CEID.
