Dániel Bartha, director of CEID, has published an article on Visegrad Insight about the Orbán-government’s maneuvering positions in the Multiannul Financial Framework (MFF) negotiations. The line is very fine between having to increase budget contributions and take the proposed cuts, therefore, the Friends of Cohesion group can play a bigger role in the talks than ever. “In protecting the success and the integrity of the Friends of Cohesion group, who favour similar levels of spending under the EU budget, the Hungarian government may need to give up its opposition to any rule of law conditionality.”
