On the 6th of October, 2022 the Equilibrium Institute (Egyensúly Intézet) hosted an online event about the Taiwan Miracle and its lessons for Hungary.

Taiwan has emerged as a significant global player and belongs to the strongest economies as a result of the Taiwan Miracle. The economic reforms included massive industrialization, investment in infrastructure with a special focus on the technology sector. Taiwan successfully avoided the middle-income trap and became a high-income country. What can Hungary learn from the island country? Can we adapt and implement some of their best practices?

Our discussion on the transformation of Taiwan’s economy introduced how the East-Asian country has been creating its economic miracle and keeping the competitive edge for a long time.
